About the Artist:
A Canadian prairies farm background has instilled in Holly a deep appreciation and understanding of the creative genius on display in the world around us. Holly and her husband of 37 years, Roger, have lived and travelled all over the world, eventually settling into life in the Foothills of Southern Alberta. Her love for people, different cultures, gardening, hiking, scuba diving, kiteboarding, kayaking, mountain climbing, and all things outdoors has provided her with a wealth of experience and visual memories for inspiration.
Holly’s adventure into the world of art began as her children started to graduate and move away in 2012. Painting regularly with a local group of artists, Holly has trained under locally renowned Calgary art instructors and artists, Paula Henchell, Holly McWilliams, Doug Swinton and Chris Jordan, among others.
As a world traveler, Holly’s art has been deeply influenced by the diversity of people, places and relationships in her life. She is able to tap into this deep well of experience as she applies paintbrush to canvas, inviting us to “step through the wardrobe” and into a place of adventure, peace and truth.
Holly’s artwork has been seen in shows across Western Canada. Her works are included in numerous private art collections throughout Western Canada and the world. She has also been commissioned to do a number of private portraits and enjoys the satisfaction of capturing the true character and spirit of her subject.
